I got some feedback from Dan Williams on wireless-dev, but what he is
advocating (drive the SoftMAC through a re-authentication cycle whenever
an ESSID is set) is a bigger change then I want to introduce just now
for a stable release.
Dan's proposal is correct architecturally, but the SoftMAC layering is
somewhat confused with respect to 802.11 authentication/association. I
am not at all confident that mucking around won't break something else.
I still think this is the right patch for Feisty.
