Available in hoary/universe's 'alsa-source' as the snd-azx driver.
Upstream, this is available as snd-azx in the <= 1.0.8 drivers. As of
1.0.9 they (will) have been renamed to snd-hda-intel.

The version in 1.0.8 is tolerable, but 1.0.9rc2's is recommended.

Since 2.6.12-rc2 contains an ALSA 1.0.9rc2 sync, this will be available
to our users in-kernel once we migrate to that one and modify the kernel
config.

The resampling issues have improved since the 1.0.6 drivers that we ship
in 2.6.10-34. I will add a note to the bugzilla entry to hint that the
user use plughw:0,0 with hoary/universe's 'alsa-source'. plughw:0,0 does
rate conversion on-the-fly.
