Sorry to be slightly out of sequence but I wanted to communicate that
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i8042.reset=1" is is also a fix for a similar issue
in the (I believe Acer manufactured) Packard Bell Easynote Butterfly S
running the Insyde Bios v. 1.07.  Thanks!
