Mainline kernel 2.6.35.4-maverick!!!!
The ubuntu maverick kernel keeps reporting ( in dmesg without the >>)
>>
>> ata3.00: configured for UDMA/100
>> ata3: EH complete
>>
while there are no apparent problems with my harddrive or controller.
I have also tested mainline kernel 2.6.35.4-maverick. The problem exists
there as well. So this is a vanilla kernel 'problem'.
Removed 'requires upstream testing' tag.....
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.35-20-generic
- I read somewhere that earlier version of kernel repored EH complete for
- ATA drivers incorrectly. So there was no problem with the drive or
- controller, just the kernel.
+ Mainline kernel 2.6.35.4-maverick!!!!
- Since my laptop is running fine (although Vista tends to park diskheads
- outside the disk) and the only error I see is:
+ The ubuntu maverick kernel keeps reporting ( in dmesg without the >>)
+ >>
+ >> ata3.00: configured for UDMA/100

+ >>
- ata3.00: configured for UDMA/100
- ata3: EH complete
+ while there are no apparent problems with my harddrive or controller.
- I assume this is due to changes in the kernel.
