Public bug reported:

My laptop (Dell Inspiron 1545) fails to hibernate with an up-to-date
Maverick installation. Hibernation worked in Lucid, but has not worked
for at least the last 1-2 months that I've Maverick installed. When I
hibernate, the display changes and eventually displays a message
referring to "atombios" being stuck in a loop before the computer turns
off. When I try to resume from hibernation, the display is garbled, and
is completely unusable, so I have to force a restart. On restarting,
Apport appears in the notification area warning that a serious kernel
error occurred.
