Since this is a virtual machine i built it with lucid, since it's LTS,
using vmbuilder.

The virtual machine was built with:
vmbuilder kvm ubuntu --suite=lucid --flavour=virtual

In the virtual machine:
lspci |grep dog
00:06.0 System peripheral: Intel Corporation 6300ESB Watchdog Timer

ls /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/watchdog
softdog.ko

dmesg reports nothing wrt finding a watchdog.

And please name a text mode browser that works with the launchpad login.
