Public bug reported:

The network manager applet didnt't recognize the wired connection
although it did recognize a wireless connection. Therefore, I rebooted
the computer. After reboot, the wired connection was recognized. Then,
the computer told me about some kernel issue and asked me to report it.
Unfortunately, that is all that I know.
