[Bug 623948] [NEW] freeze with screen garbled on boot

Sometimes (about every 15th boot) my system freezes at boot. It seems to
happen right after Grub but before the boot logo appears. If I remember
correctly first the grub menu disappears, the cursor is blinking in the
left upper corner on a blank screen. Then a dark screen appears. The
screen is not completely dark. It has about 100 px at the top. Vertical
1 or 2 px solid grey bars. And from the absolute top red gardient like
pixels appear. It seems to look the same every time.

I never had this on Karmic. I attached a poor shot from my mobile
camera. Hope it helps.
