L24.9 works well on my Panda 8-layers.
I have used PA default.pa and daemon.conf files attached and setup the amixer settings with the attached config file.

In the Sound Preferences applet Ihave:
- Hardware tab => no hardware listed
- Input tab => "SDP4430" is listed
- Output tab => "HDMI stereo" and "Onboard_speakers stereo" are listed.

Audio works fine in MP3 playback using Totem.
