Public bug reported:
Whenever I boot my laptop with the Netgear WG511v2 PCMCIA card inside, the kernel reports a serious problem;yet the laptop is still workable and I can still connect via ethernet. But when I try removing the card everything freezes and I have to resort to a hard shut down. When I try booting without the card there is absolutely no problem.I also had no problems with Lucid,up to kernel 2.6.32-25 anyway, the latest kernel I had before upgrading to Maverick.
I use the latest ndiswrapper from the Ubuntu repositories, driver v. 3.1.1.7 from Netgear, and the kernel flavour is the latest Maverick beta one,2.6.35-20
