I think I dumped dmesg, but obviously I was wrong. See attachment (good one hopefully this time).
I confirm other's observations regarding wifi behavior. If I configure it to use static IP it seems connected but there is no communication. With DHCP it is not able to get the IP and system decides to drop the connection.
