I'm running a fully-up-to-date Maverick, and still getting tons of
wakeups from load balancing ticks. It's consistently the top one, at:

  28.1% (200.1)   [kernel scheduler] Load balancing tick

That's with:

  Linux sidnei-laptop 2.6.35-20-generic #29-Ubuntu SMP Fri Sep 3
14:55:28 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
