Public bug reported:

Startup from cold gives flash-bang logo in Notification Area about
kernel problem. Has occurred 2 out of 2 times - upgraded to 10.10 beta
from 10.04 (latest patches) yesterday (05/09/2010). No other issues
noticed yet, sound wi-fi etc still working as per out of box. This is my
first bug - I assume the apport report is being attached automatically;
I will also attach the logs described below.

I have an internal Gobi 2000 3G card which was working under 10.04 with some tweaking (gobi_loader etc). I only mention this as the crash looks like it occurs around the USB detection phase, right after bluetooth, and the Gobi is logically the next device:

Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0489:e00f Foxconn / Hon Hai
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 05c6:9224 Qualcomm, Inc. Sony Gobi 2000 Wireless Modem (QDL mode)
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 05ca:18b7 Ricoh Co., Ltd
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 147e:1001 Upek
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

I note that the gobi_loader is not initialising this device currently
(haven't played with trying to tweak this yet - but basically once
firmware is loaded properly device 05c6:9224 should become 05c6:9225).
