Probably very similar problem on my
Dell (AMD TurionX2 2000MHz, AMD RS485 Northbridge, AMD SB600 Southbridge) and Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit.

Linux version 2.6.32-24-generic (buildd at crested) (gcc version 4.4.3

(Ubuntu 2.6.32-24.42-generic 2.6.32.15+drm33.5)

After several on/off cycles of the external USB webcam (e.g. I run cheese or skype several times, camera still connected) 
camera suddenly stops working (I cannot turn it on again).

It is still listed in lsusb, but is not listed between multimedia
devices anymore...

All other connected USB devices continue working,
but it is not possible to connect new USB devices, e.g. flash disk dongle or external HDD,
they are not listed in lsusb and there are no traces of them in kernel log...

I have to reboot the system to get the camera and USB system working
again.

Kernel log shows:

I think the problem is triggered by uvcvideo and causes ehci_hcd to
crash.

Is somebody from kernel team aware of the problem with ehci?
I think we should have USB system tuned to perfection in 2010, it's very essential!
