[Bug 669068] [NEW] Bulk copy to USB3 Hard Disk causes temporary freeze

I had two terminals open, in the first I was running "cp -a
/var/lib/libvirt /media/Transcend/backup/var/lib" to backup KVM images
circa 291gig. In the second (due to impatience) I was on occasion
running "ls -lrth /media/Transcend/backup/var/lib/libvirt/images" to
check on progress. On a small number (6?) occasions I had a temporary
freeze where both terminal windows would darken and the "ls" command
would suspend (perhaps the "cp" also) for up to a minute and then
recover. The copy has been checked with md5 checksum and appears to be
OK. Both source and destination file-systems are ext4. There are
errors/warnings in the attached dmesg log that have only appeared since
this USB3 drive has been in use.
