[Bug 430871] Re: init - mount root fs

I have this bug or something very similar. Running Maverick 10.10 wth
all updates.It occasionally fails to launch X or anything else for that
matter. After the dots on the boot screen, it just sits there with all
the dots out and not responding. System wil shutdown and reboot with
ctrl-delete, so kernel seems alive.

How can I further diagnose this???
