Well, the real reason why it's so damn slow to boot the installer is
this:
Oct 28 10:10:07 kernel: [ 500.158718] bnx2x: eth2 NIC Link is Down
Oct 28 10:11:47 kernel: [ 599.974835] [bnx2x_wait_ramrod:7159(eth2)]timeout polling for state c0000
on IDX [1]
Oct 28 10:11:49 kernel: [ 602.210200] bnx2x 0000:02:00.6: irq 56 for MSI/MSI-X
Oct 28 10:11:49 kernel: [ 602.210205] bnx2x 0000:02:00.6: irq 57 for MSI/MSI-X
Oct 28 10:11:49 kernel: [ 602.210208] bnx2x 0000:02:00.6: irq 58 for MSI/MSI-X
Oct 28 10:11:49 kernel: [ 602.210211] bnx2x 0000:02:00.6: irq 59 for MSI/MSI-X
Oct 28 10:11:49 kernel: [ 602.210215] bnx2x 0000:02:00.6: irq 60 for MSI/MSI-X
Oct 28 10:11:49 kernel: [ 602.210405] bnx2x: eth3: using MSI-X IRQs: sp 56 fp[0] 57 ... fp[3] 60
Oct 28 10:11:51 netcfg[2676]: WARNING **: couldn't determine MII ioctl to use for eth3
Oct 28 10:11:51 netcfg[2676]: INFO: eth3 is not a wireless interface. Continuing.
Oct 28 10:11:51 kernel: [ 604.604869] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth3: link is not ready
Oct 28 10:11:51 kernel: [ 604.632998] bnx2x: eth3 NIC Link is Down
Oct 28 10:13:32 kernel: [ 704.449116] [bnx2x_wait_ramrod:7159(eth3)]timeout polling for state c0000 on IDX [1]
maybe it deserves another bug then.
** Description changed:
- Installing lucid on a HP BL460c G6 blade using a newer installation image than what it was released with is much slower, due to
- the kernel timing out on every interface (8 of them) due to a missing module?
+ Installing lucid on a HP BL460c G6 blade the kernel times out on every
+ interface (8 of them) due to a missing module?
Oct 27 07:21:17 kernel: [ 34.647857] bnx2x: gave up waiting for init of module libcrc32c.
Oct 27 07:21:17 kernel: [ 34.647921] bnx2x: Unknown symbol crc32c
- The release image doesn't suffer from this.
+ This happens on every image I tried.
