** Description changed:

  Kubuntu 10.10.

  Steps to reproduce:
  Either:
1, Shut down the system from the Application Launcher menu; or
  2. command sudo shutdown -h now

This causes the system to shut down. However, before it reaches the
point where it should turn off the power switch, the shutdown sequence
hangs and the system becomes totally unresponsive. The box does not
  power-off.

- This happens approximately once in every ten shutdowns.
+ This happens approximately nine times out of every ten shutdowns. On the
+ tenth time, the box shuts down completely as it should.
