Binary package hint: update-manager

I recently upgraded from 10.04 to 10.10. When I run update-manager, a
number of updates appear ready to be installed. However, when I click on
"Install Updates", nothing happens. The password prompt does not show
up.

I have confirmed that I can install updates by running "sudo apt-get
upgrade". Any other information that I can provide to help troubleshoot
this issue?
