Public bug reported:

Hibernation worked great in 10.04, but doesn't work well in 10.10. After
a clean boot, it works fine. If I launch Thunderbird and Pidgin, it
still works fine. Once I launch Firefox, it fails. Everything shuts
down, then it stalls at a terminal with this error message:

Using ctrl+alt+F1 I can switch to a different tty that shows a login
prompt, but from there I can't login nor switch back to the error
message.

I just updated to the latest kernel release.
