I was schocked to find out that this is still an issue in Maverick! As
usual, setting GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_osi='\"!Windows 2009\"'" works
for me on my Asus UL30A laptop with Intel GPU.

How can we get someone to notice this bug and fix it? I can only imagine
how many new Ubuntu users are put off by this and end up dismissing the
OS :(.
