I too use nouveau driver not Nividia proprietary  driver, acpi_listen
recognise key code when fn keys are pressed S1,S2,Eject,
Mute,F5,F6,F7,F10,channel -,channel +, TV Rec, and AV Mode but does not
activate event on my Sony Vaio VGN-AR690U. i managed to work F5 and F6
keys for controling brightness install nvclock from maverick repo. but
it does not show indicator like volume.
