When I boot the "maverick-alternate-amd64.iso   07-Oct-2010 16:47" image
from  http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/, I do not see the
"unknown BIOS" error message.

the syslog file is attached.

I didn't try actually installing from this image to see how the result
works.  I'll try to do that next week.
