I sum a vote for this bug.

I have problems with USB 2.0 controller and devices that are not 2.0
capable.

My solution was disable USB 2.0 controller from the BIOS and sacrifice
performance.

Could be possible to recompile the kernel with ehci support as module
and play a little with udev to fix this bug?
