[Bug 660924] [NEW] Thinkpad X41 - SRST failed errno=-16 no boot with install media

Binary package hint: linux-image

Hardware: Thinkpad X41 2525-F8G with hitachi htc426040 disk drive. Controller is intel ich6-m with an marvel 88sa8040 p-ata bridge.
Tryed install media: ubuntu i386 desktop 10.10, 10.04. unity netbook 10.10, 10.04, alternate 10.10
After setup screen an a short boot the system is dead, without quiet i see 3 times. Can deliver a foto but no logs cause it is not possible to get a live system up.
ata1: port is slow to respond, please be patient (Status 0x90)
ata3: SRST failed (errno=-16)
Thinkwiki told that this hardware runs well with kernel 2.6.15 and up, this seems not to be true

Meantime i have partitioned and formatted the harddisk with an usb
adapter on my 10.04 desktop. Will try to install on the thinkpad with
this adapter to get more infos for you.
