This is going to sound a bit odd, but it seems to happen at least once a
day, however - if I load the kvm and kvm_amd modules on my system, it
causes the issue to crop up within 5-30 minutes.

I have not been able to track down a definite cause though.  It happens
with no IR being pressed from the MCE remote, or not kvm userspace
running..
