So according to that you have mceusb loaded when it detected your
device.  I don't see any errors in dmesg either.  I'm assuming you
actually have the lirc package installed right?

As long as you do, can you please try

# sudo /etc/init.d/lirc restart

to rule out a potential race condition with it reconfiguring the kernel
device?
