Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.32-25-generic
I have the MSI Wind U100 laptop and I use Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. When I press Fn+F2 key on keyboard, nothing happens but this key have to switch to an external display if it's connected. I tried to press Fn+F2 and other Fn+F? keys (Fn+F4, Fn+F5, Fn+F6, Fn+F11) after 'showkey -s' command but it doesn't show any scancodes.
I run 2.6.32-25-generic kernel.
In Gentoo these keys work properly and all of them generate scancodes. When I booted Ubuntu with Gentoo kernel without initrd these keys also work properly. Gentoo kernel is from gentoo-sources. I don't use genkernel. Unfortunately, I cannot boot Ubuntu kernel without initrd because it panics when tries to mount root filesystem which is on SATA hard drive.
I think this is a bug in Ubuntu kernel patches because Fn+F? keys work on Gentoo kernel in Ubuntu.
I attached my Gentoo kernel config but I think that config is unimportant.
