Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image

loading i915 with modeset=1 makes screen goes blank, this is on lucid
and also tried maverick rc. I can workaround it booting with
i915.modeset=0 and start X with vesa but it is far from optimal.
Unloading i915 (remotely) returns video. Worth note that there is no
need to start X to reproduce the bug, loading i915 with modeset=1
(default) is enough.
