Public bug reported:

With Ubuntu 10.04 + Updates everything was OK,

Ubuntu 10.10 Hangs at boot. (White cursor blinking in top left corner)

I tried some Bootoptions:

-acpi=off (which was used for this report) :successful boot, but no CPU Frequency scaling available. (too noisy)
-nolapic :successful boot: only one CPU detected. (Frequency scaling works, inefficient)

CPU: Intel Core 2 P8700 at 2.53GHz

Is it possible to run a live-USBSitck with the Upstream Kernel? (I don't
want to install stuff on my productive Machine without testing first)
