You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Target : Ubuntu 9.04, 9.10, 10.04, 10.10 beta

Context:
On a computer like ACER A110 ASPIRE ONE, there is TWO SD card readers.
One is labelled "storage expansion" on case. The other is not labelled.
The bug is about the NOT labelled one :

BUG description :
When the NOT labelled one is EMPTY at boot time, it is not registered as a device by Ubuntu (not visible with LSCPI command).

More informations :
* When there is a SD card loaded in this SD card reader AT BOOT TIME, it is recognized and works fine.
* The "storage expansion" SD card reader ALWAYS works fine, even if empty at boot time.
* It is not a BIOS bug since everything works fine nately on the same computer with FEDORA 13.

My opinion:
* I think that this bug occurs when there is more than one embeeded SD card reader on the computer running UBUNTU.
* This bug (and specially the way to live with it, i mean to load the faulty SD card before to boot Ubuntu) should be at least documented in Ubuntu limits, if not corrected.

Best regards.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Incomplete
