I can confirm it's there in Maverick, as well. Running 10.10 RC on same laptop and get following message flooding my logs

Oct  2 09:39:58 gibbylinks-laptop kernel: [ 2417.426573] atkbd serio0: Unknown key released (translated set 2, code 0x8d on isa0060/serio0).
Oct  2 09:39:58 gibbylinks-laptop kernel: [ 2417.426582] atkbd serio0: Use 'setkeycodes e00d <keycode>' to make it known.

Will try latest kernel and see if still there
