[Bug 562843] Re: [Lucid] [drm:rs400_gart_adjust_size] *ERROR* Forcing to 32M GART size (because of ASIC bug ?)

I get the error (sometimes) when I boot up, before the splash screen
would normally appear. At this point, my only option is to hold the
power button down to power down, and to re-start. At this time, as often
as not, I get a good boot, although it does appear that the same message
is flashing on my scree, followed immediately by the Ubuntu splash
screen. The exact message last time (this morning) was:

[16.994948] [drm:rs400_gart_adjust_size] *error* FORCING TO 32M GART
SIZE (because of ASIC BUG?)

Ubuntu 10.4
>From xorg.0.log - ATI Technologies Inc RC410 [Radeon Xpress 200M]

This is more a pain in the --- than anything else, especially since
Ubuntu is not my primary O/S (dual partitioned with Win 7), but it
appears that many people have this problem and it would be nice if a fix
could be found sooner than later.
