[Bug 581007] [NEW] Time runs approx 3x as fast as it should

Public bug reported:

Time seems to run at 2-3x the rate on this machine since I upgraded from
Karmic to Lucid (2.6.32)

>From dmesg:

[ 0.660440] Switching to clocksource acpi_pm
[ 0.902560] rtc_cmos 00:04: setting system clock to 2010-05-15
13:09:58 UTC (1273928998)
[ 1.322563] Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = -358190597 ns)

# cat /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/current_clocksource
acpi_pm
# cat /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/available_clocksource
acpi_pm

Trying to switch to HPET does nothing, as it doesn't seem to have that
available (AMD BE-2300 chip on some el cheapo nvidia chipset board)

I presume it's some frequency scaling confusion deep in the bowels
of ACPI, but if I only have one clocksource - how can I get around this?
