This bug affects also my Acer 5930G. It does not happen at every boot.
Last time  I received the following messages in kern.log:

about 15 minutes after boot I received

May 10 16:22:23 francesco kernel: [ 1040.834972] CE: hpet increasing
min_delta_ns to 50624 nsec

and after 1 minute

with this last block repeating many many times.

 My OS is a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04, Kernel  2.6.32-22-generic-
pae.

Please tell me if I need to attach other files.
