[Bug 579032] [NEW] plymouth boot logo displaced, if nomodeset is in effect and grub's gfxmode is bigger than 640x480

Because I'm using the proprietary NVidia driver, I disabled KMS from the
grub kernel parameters.  I still want to use my console in the native
resolution of 1680x1050 on my Thinkpad LCD, so in my grub.cfg I have the
lines

set gfxmode=1680x1050
set gfxpayload=keep

This works just fine for the grub boot prompt and the console when the
system is up, however the boot logo displayed by plymouth is off-
centered so much to the left, that the part of the image cut off by the
left screen edge, appears at the right edge.  Please see the attached
screenshot.

I looked around for a solution to this, but was unable to find any.
