You have been subscribed to a public bug:

After upgrading to Lucid Lynx from Karmic Koala, my laptop does not
automatically switch audio outputs when headphones are plugged.

Normally if nothing is detected in the line-out/headphones socket,
Ubuntu plays all audio out of the built in speakers. When a jack is
detected in the line-out/headphones socket, it turns off the built in
speakers and plays all audio through the line/headphones. Ubuntu is not
switching this automatically any more, and I am having to do it
manually. This is quite an inconvenience for a laptop.

Info:
Asus Eee PC, 1001P
Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, 10.04.
No hardware changes, playing music on Rhythmbox.

Would be nice if this could be fixed, especially it was working in the
previous release.

Thanks,
Oliver
