Sorry, not much time to answer... let's see:

- About point 1: No need to uncompress the iso image. Just use the option burn image, or copy image to disc, or whatever is called in your favourite program.
- About point 3: Yes, in the setup screen, you should see your CD/DVD drive in the list, I can't answer which one is the right one now, I don't have my laptop at hand, but it seems to be the "IDE 1 : HL-DT-ST-DVDRAMGSA-..." device.
- About point 5: Yes, that unit is called X: , it's not a variable name :)  
- About point 7: Yo change the current directory, use the command "cd", in this case, if you are in X:\ use "cd firm", it will take you to X:\firm. Then execute the bat file just typing the name of the file, no need to use another command to run it --> if50.bat
