If we can get this chip working for the ordinary user, without them
having to do anything extra, then that would be fantastic, particularly
if it can be patched into 10.04?

Otherwise, the least we could do is to provide a really detailed step by
step explanation of how to get it to work on the Ubuntu wiki?

These chips are probably going to get a lot more popular over the next
year or two, as people use 3G / 4G / GPS more in their laptops...
