Public bug reported:
I'm running Lucid with all the latest packages on an ASUS pinetrail
netbook 1001P. The two CPU cores can run at 1,67GHz, 1,33GHz and 1GHz.
$ cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies
1667000 1333000 1000000
But even when the machine is completely idle, on the powersave governor
and on battery, the machine will never drop below 1,33GHz.
When the machine is on AC power something changes the governor to
performance automatically (I certainly want to switch that off). The
machine then runs at 1,67GHz and the fan starts to run continuously.
I'd rather continue to use on-demand governor and enjoy a quiet machine.
