Problem is still present in Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 (up-to-date), with the
very same symptoms: the DVD live image appears to survive suspends but
the HDD installed image hangs upon resuming from suspend.

I have also tried with and without the acerhk driver (used for the Wireless LED / software rfkill) -- no difference. My wlan card is:
08:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02)

@Andy / @Leann: it's been over one year and over 3 Ubuntu releases since
this has been reported (by me and many other people) -- can we have
someone assigned to the bug or at least properly triaged ? My best guess
is that there is an inconvenient ACPI default setting which upsets the
BIOS/power management on these notebook models. Thank you !
