Hitting Ctrl-C and confirming that scary "yes, I'm aware this may leave
the OS in a broken state" warning let me continue with the upgrade.
Newer kernels were installed also, update-grub got called again (more
than once), and completed successfully those times.
I just noticed that lupin-support was one of the packages being
upgraded, and the update-grub infinite loop happened from
/etc/grub.d/10_lupin. This might be relevant.
