That's a grub-installer bug.  Fixed and uploaded, pending release team
approval.

Is there still a bug to handle against linux here?  I don't think
there's been any clear identification of a kernel bug, aside from the
question of GPT labels without protective MBRs which I think I addressed
in a previous comment.
