I am using kernel 2.6.32-16-generic.

The issue now is that the system does resume but can take up to 2-3
minutes other times instantly but the real concern is that on all
occasions the screen comes back with multiple ghost images and fans
switch to full speed, only solution is to restart then full shut down.
