Public bug reported:

I have an Acer Aspire 3100 with internal ENE CB-712 card reader.
It works fine when I read small size SD memory cards (512 megabytes) but when I use bigger size cards (2-4 gigabytes), reading files turns the system erratic.

Mouse cursor moves erratically when reading-copying files. It happens systematically while reading/copying with Nautilus, Dolphin, command line, Mc. Everytime I copy bigger files (e.g. 32 megabytes) the system shuts down.
I am using 32 bit Ubuntu Karmic (2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux).

Name: ENE Technology Inc CB-712/4 Cardbus controller
Class: Cardbus bridge
Domain: 0
Bus, device, function: 6, 4, 0
IRQ: 20
Latency: 168
Bus Master: Yes
Memory: 4kb (32 Bit, non-prefechtable)
Kernel modules: yenta_socket

Last Kern.log logged lines before shut down:
Mar 9 22:16:39 cagadita kernel: [ 6500.026070] mmc1: new high speed SD card at address b368
Mar 9 22:16:39 cagadita kernel: [ 6500.280683] mmcblk0: mmc1:b368 SD 1.86 GiB
Mar 9 22:16:39 cagadita kernel: [ 6500.280844] mmcblk0: p1
Mar 9 22:17:09 cagadita kernel: [ 6530.433838] hda-intel: IRQ timing workaround is activated for card #0. Suggest a bigger bdl_pos_adj.

Is there any solution? Should I setup up something or recompile that
module with an specific parameter?

Thanks

Agustín Kanashiro
