[Bug 528981] Re: Repetitive massive filesystem corruption

I have very similar symptoms following a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 on
a Dell Inspiron 1501, which I have installed once in a single ext3
partition and subsequently in two (/ and /home) ext3 partitions, with
the same symptoms both times. I have records of an orphan node cleanup
in logs (similar to "[ 6.974972] EXT3-fs: INFO: recovery required on
readonly filesystem." described by another user at
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1180159.html). There is no
record of the events leading to the filesystem becoming readonly
(obviously).

Possibly related is the bug report "ext4 journal error, remounted read-
only after resume",
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/438379.
