I'm still affected by this bug, and have partially verified that it
still exists in the 10.04 release. I'm running 8.04.4, fully updated
(kernel is 2.6.24-28-generic), and the affected adapter is an nVidia
MCP61 Ethernet adapter on the motherboard. The lockup only happens a
short time after noon local time, and does not happen every day.
Apparently the problem has been around for at least five years; is there
any hope of finding a cure?
