hi!
actually, the problem still exists, but it's not very important for me anymore 
because when I do a
rmmod dell_laptop
it works.

as far as I can see, the problem isn't that the wifi key doesn't work, it's 
about that the 2 existing wifi devices have a different hardware enablement 
state (it changes when I press the wifi key, but one of them always stays 
disabled). this can be worked around by unloading the dell_leptop module as 
mentioned above.
