To summarize the work arounds proposed.

1) Adding acpi_osi=!Windows 2009 to kernel command line (via grub)
 * The best work around currently. Works for everything.
 * This is dependent on the bios identifying and not doing Win+P+(?delay Return) for other operating system

2) Set keybindings for metacity  for Win+P

* Issue here is that is does not catch rouge return .. that may or may not come around
* Only for win managers using metacity 

2) Patch to gnome-settings daemon
