Public bug reported:

Hey folks. Another 10.04 problem from me. After upgrading from 9.10 to
10.04, my wireless keyboard and mouse no longer work while in Grub. I
have a Logitech Wireless MK300 system. When using 9.10, in the Grub
menu I could navigate and choose the partition I wanted to boot from
just fine. Right after the 10.04 upgrade completed, I thought my system
was freezing at the Grub menu only to discover it worked fine with an
old PS2 keyboard. The Wireless keyboard (which plugs into a USB port)
will not work. I then plugged in a regular USB keyboard on a hunch and
again found it would not work, only the old PS2 keyboard works. Further
investigation found the problem to be with the EHCI handoff. If I
enable the Legacy USB functionality and a specific EHCI workaround
available in my BIOS for "USB Unaware Operating Systems", VOILA! The
USB keyboard and the wireless keyboard came back to life.

So it appears there is a critical issue with the EHCI handoff in 10.04.
PS2 hardware is increasingly hard to come by and my new motherboard (XFX
X58i) doesn't even have a PS2 connection for a mouse...only for the
keyboard, so I'm up the proverbial creek without USB functionality.
This needs attention ASAP.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
